Recap of the Mitch Tambo - I AM ME Event

Yarriambiack Libraries was fortunate to bring author, singer and musician Mitch Tambo to Warracknabeal on the morning of Monday, 18 May 2026.

Mitch Tambo is a proud Gamilaraay man and one of Australia's most unique and electrifying First Nations entertainers.

Nearly 50 people, including children, families and adult fans, attended the event - especially enjoying the discussions regarding how to say "hello" in different languages.

Mitch read his delightful picture book, I AM ME - a story about being true to yourself.

Mitch's celebration of uplifting messages about confidence, culture and belonging also featured audience interactions, with lots of singing and dancing too.

Yarriambiack Libraries is grateful to Mitch Tambo and their team for bringing their celebration to our Shire, and to the Anglican Parish Centre in Warracknabeal for hosting the event at their venue.

I AM ME (a special signed copy) and other fun children's picture books are available to borrow from Yarriambiack Libraries.
