Transfer Stations
Council operates transfer stations located in Speed/Tempy, Patchewollock, Hopetoun, Beulah, Woomelang, Warracknabeal, Minyip, Rupanyup and Murtoa, which accept most waste and recyclable materials. Council also operates hard waste and recycling collections in Yaapeet.
All transfer stations are closed every Monday, Good Friday and Christmas Day.

Please note: Transfer Stations will only open for the first 2 hours of the day (if scheduled to be open) on Total Fire Ban Days and days of extreme weather in line with Council's OH&S policies and safe work practices.

Operating hours and days for waste transfer stations in Yarriambiack Shire Council will be changing in April. Following community feedback, we’re making transfer stations safer and more accessible by changing some operating hours and days from Sunday April 7th.
We thank the community for their feedback in relation to the Trial Transfer Station Daylight Savings Operating Hours.
The feedback received indicated the community was happy with morning operating hours. However, the same timetable all year round to reduce confusion was preferred as was an afternoon session available on the weekends.
Based on the communities feedback, as from Sunday 7 April we wish to implement permanent transfer station operating hours across the Shire as follows:
Warracknabeal: Monday – Closed, Tuesday to Saturday 8am to 12 noon and Sunday 10am to 2pm
Hopetoun: Tuesday and Thursday 8am to 12noon, Sunday 10am to 2pm.
Patchewollock, Speed/Tempy, Beulah and Woomelang will remain unchanged, continuing to operate on the Daylight Savings model as a permanent arrangement.
Murtoa: Tuesday and Friday 8am to 12noon, Sunday 10am to 2pm. Please note change of day, from Thursday to Friday, along with change to opening ours on Sunday.
Minyip: Wednesday 9am – 12pm and Sunday 8am to 11am
Rupanyup: Thursday 9am – 12pm and 9am to 12pm
Noting, that on days of total fire ban, transfer stations will only be open for the first 2 hours of the day. (e.g. 8am to 10am).
