Yarriambiack to Help Shape Healthier Futures Through New VicHealth Partnership

Children and young people across Yarriambiack Shire are set to benefit from a new partnership with VicHealth, with Yarriambiack Shire Council announced as one of the successful participants in the Partners in Place program.

The initiative brings together councils from across Victoria to tackle local health and wellbeing challenges through community-led solutions, helping create places where young people can feel connected, supported and empowered to thrive.

Yarriambiack Shire Council Chief Executive Officer Tammy Smith said the partnership represented an exciting opportunity to build on the strengths that already exist throughout the community.

"We know our communities are full of passionate people, great ideas and a strong desire to create positive opportunities for the next generation," Ms Smith said.

"Partners in Place gives us the opportunity to bring people together, listen to our young people and their families, and develop solutions that are shaped by local experiences and local knowledge."

"This isn't about imposing a one-size-fits-all approach. It's about recognising what makes Yarriambiack unique and building on the incredible work already happening across our towns."

Through the program, Council will work alongside community members, local organisations and other Victorian councils to explore new ways of improving the health and wellbeing of children and young people. Participating councils will also gain access to specialist expertise, resources and a statewide network focused on creating lasting positive change.

Council looks forward to working with local partners and community members over the coming months to identify priorities and opportunities that will make a lasting difference for children, young people and families across the shire.
