Murtoa Showyards Reserve Netball and Tennis Courts Officially Opened
Yarriambiack Shire Council is proud to announce the official opening of the newly upgraded netball and tennis courts at Murtoa Showyards Reserve, formally opened by Deputy Mayor Cr Corinne Heintze.
Delivered as a partnership between the Victorian Government, Yarriambiack Shire Council and the Murtoa community, the $1.148 million project was made possible through significant funding of $918,998 from the Victorian Government’s Regional Community Sports Infrastructure Fund, alongside contributions from Council, the Minyip-Murtoa Football and Netball Club and the Murtoa Showyards Reserve Committee.
The upgrade provides modern, high-quality playing surfaces, improved lighting, player shelters, fencing and supporting infrastructure that will enhance safety, increase participation opportunities, and support the growth of netball and tennis in the region.
This project reflects the strength of local collaboration, with the community playing a key role in both advocating for and contributing to the delivery of these much-needed facilities. The upgraded courts will ensure Murtoa continues to have access to quality sporting infrastructure for current and future generations.
