Public Notice - Community Feedback Invited
Proposed Lease Renewal - VicTrack Lot 35, Patchewollock

In accordance with Section 115 of the Local Government Act 2020 and Yarriambiack Shire Council's Community Engagement Policy and Procedure, Yarriambiack Shire Council is seeking community feedback on a proposed renewal of its existing ground lease with VicTrack.

Council first entered into a five-year ground lease with VicTrack in 2017 for Lot 35, Patchewollock, located adjacent to the Patchewollock Silo Art on Cummings Road.  The lease enabled the establishment of a community walking track that provides visitors and residents with access to the area in front of the silos.

Due to an administrative error in executing the 2022 lease renewal, VicTrack has requested a new ten-year lease, backdated to February 2022 when the renewal should have taken effect.

Under Section 115 of the Local Government Act 2020, Council must undertake community engagement before entering into a lease with a term of ten years or more.

The proposed ten-year lease, will support and enable continued operation and maintenance of the walking track and visitor access to the Patchewollock Silo Art precinct.

Council now invites community members to provide feedback on whether they do support or do not support the proposed lease renewal.
