The Rates Notices for the 2026/27 financial year have now been distributed.
Rates Notices are delivered via post, via email, and via online banking notifications.
Rates can be paid in full or in quarterly instalments.
For ratepayers electing to pay in instalments, the first payment is due by Wednesday, 30 September 2026. Please note that the first instalment includes any arrears and interest carried over from 2025/26.
Notices for the second, third and fourth instalments will be forwarded prior to the due dates of:
If the first instalment is not paid by the 30 September 2026, you will automatically be required to pay your rates in full by Monday, 15 February 2027.
Rates are levied on each property based on its Capital Improved Value, being the market value of the property including land and all improvements. Rates on a property are calculated by multiplying the Capital Improved Value by the applicable rate in the dollar determined in Council’s Annual Budget.
If you wish to lodge an objection to any of the valuations shown on the front of your rates notice, you may do so via the Rating Valuation Objections Portal.
Objections must be lodged within two months of the notice being served.
Note: Lodging an objection or appeal does not prevent the recovery of Council Rates, charges or State Government levies or the charging of interest.
Further information on Council Rates, including a list of payment methods and the Update Details Form, is available via Rates - Council Services.
