Did You Know - Dog Waste Bag Locations

Under Council's General Local Law 2024: Part 2 - Division 3 - Section 24, animal owners are responsible for ensuring their pets do not leave waste on roads, Council land, or private property.  Council's Authorised Officers can issue infringement notices to anyone who fails to comply with this General Local Law.

Due to community concerns and complaints, we wish to remind residents of Warracknabeal and Murtoa of the following dog waste bag dispenser locations:

In Warracknabeal, the Scott Street shopping precinct dog waste dispensers are available outside the Information Centre and The General Store.  Additional dispensers are also located at ANZAC Park, Lions Park, Apex Park, the Boat Ramp, and the Rotary Dog Park.

In Murtoa, there are several dispensers in the McDonald Street shopping precinct, as well as around Lake Marma and Rabl Park.

Council has installed dog waste bag dispensers in public areas across our Shire, including: main street shopping precincts, parks, caravan parks, and recreational reserves that Council manage.

When walking your dog, you must remember to carry a bag and always pick up after your pet.  Cleaning up after your dog helps keep our streets, parks and public spaces clean, safe, and enjoyable for everyone.
