Adoption of Council Plan 2025-2029

The Yarriambiack Shire Council is pleased to announce the adoption of its Council Plan for 2025-2029. This plan encompasses the Health and Wellbeing Plan and the Long-Term Community Vision. Complementing the Council Plan was the adoption of the Year 1 Action Plan for 25/26.

Mayor Zanker stated, “Extensive community consultation was undertaken with community sessions held across townships.”.

“To initiate discussions regarding the Council Plan, Councillors hosted ‘Coffee with a Councillor’ sessions across 11 townships within the municipality”, continued Mayor Zanker.

Hard copy surveys were distributed at the community consultation sessions and made available at Yarriambiack Libraries branches. The survey was also made available online.

The draft Council Plan 2025-2029 was placed on public exhibition and endorsed unanimously by Councillors on 30 June 2025.

The Council Plan outlines a series of strategies intended to guide the Council's actions over the next four years. It is organised around the following four strategic objectives:

1. An Innovative and Diversified Economy;

2. A Healthy and Inclusive Community;

3. A Resilient and Sustainable Natural Environment; and

4. A Council that Services its Community.

"We extend our gratitude to the community for their feedback and submissions, which have been instrumental in guiding the Council as we developed this crucial document outlining our direction for the next four years," concluded Mayor Zanker.
