In partnership with Victoria’s Container Deposit Scheme, Council is installing new recycling baskets on more than 50 public place garbage bins in Yarriambiack. The baskets can be found in Rupanyup, Minyip, Murtoa, Warracknabeal, Brim, Beulah, Hopetoun and Woomelang at a variety of locations,.
Delivered in partnership with the Yarriambiack Shire, the program will see specially designed baskets installed on public litter bins, making it easy to leave eligible drink containers for others to collect and return for a 10-cent refund. Anyone can drop off containers and anyone can collect them.
As part of the rollout, 50 metal baskets are in the process of being installed on public bins across Yarriambiack, helping keep eligible containers out of landfill while supporting community members to collect the refund.
