Little Yellow Wagon
Yarriambiack Shire Council has established a mobile recycling service, The Little Yellow Wagon, across several of our smaller communities.
The service now covers the towns of Beulah, Yaapeet, Patchewollock, Speed, Lascelles, Woomelang, Minyip and Rupanyup. The trailer will be generally located at the same stop as the Words on Wheels van.
The service aims to provide an easy and convenient way for residents to recycle or safely dispose of household problem wastes including gas bottles, fire extinguishers, paint, batteries, oils, fluoro lights, smoke detectors and electronic waste (E-waste).
People can drop off materials if:
- they are a current resident of Yarriambiack Shire;
- they ensure only materials listed on the back are presented for collection. No other waste will be collected;
- items for collection can only be dropped off for the period the trailer is present. Please do not drop off anything at the location earlier or leave it after the trailer has gone;
- only domestic quantities will be accepted of 20kg or 20L maximum container size (10 containers per collection);
- Problem waste: Our staff can lift a maximum of 20kg or 20L per item of problem waste. We can collect a maximum of 10 items or 100L collection;
- E-waste: All items must be smaller than 60 inches or 153cm, weighing a maximum of 20kg per item. We can collect a maximum of 5 items or 100kg;
- All items are to be secured. Leaking or damaged containers will NOT be collected.
