Southern Mallee Flood Studies – Community Session - Beulah

SESSION DETAILS:
Beulah Business Centre - 77 Phillips Street, Beulah VIC 3395
10.45am – 11.45am, Thursday, 15 October 2026.

Mallee Catchment Management Authority (CMA) will be hosting a community information session for the Southern Mallee Flood Study Project in Beulah on 15 October. The project is being delivered in partnership with Yarriambiack Shire Council.

As part of this project, Mallee CMA has engaged consultants Water Technology to undertake updated flood modelling and mapping using the latest information from recent flood and storm events, together with current climate change considerations.

The study will update existing flood modelling for Beulah on Yarriambiack Creek. This work will provide a more robust understanding of flood behaviour and associated flood risks across the region.

During the session, Water Technology will present the results of several modelled historic flood events and seek feedback from community members to help confirm that the modelling accurately reflects local flood conditions and experiences.

Local knowledge is critical to the success of the project. Community members are encouraged to share photographs, videos, personal observations and any information relating to flooding, drainage issues or flood impacts in their area. The session will also provide an overview of the project, including its objectives, methodology, key milestones and anticipated timelines.

Further community engagement opportunities will be provided throughout the project to help inform the study and support the development of the final report, which is expected to be completed in 2027.
