Big Summer Read 2025/26

The Big Summer Read challenges you to pick up a book and keep reading over the holidays. It is an initiative of Public Libraries Victoria.

Anyone between the ages of 0-18 are welcome to participate - and it is FREE!

Parents and caregivers can sign-up for the challenge via:

Independent and non-independent readers can log each day or completed book they read, have read to them, or listened to as an audio book.

There are online challenges, and prize draws to be won!

Earn additional prize draw entries for every 5 books read or 5 days of reading.

Yarriambiack Libraries is hosting a photo competition to celebrate the Big Summer Read!

Take a photo of you reading a book with a pet.
Email the photo to: libraries@yarriambiack.vic.gov.au
In the email, please include:
1. Names of people & pet,
2. Ages of people,
3. Contact phone number.
Please state if you do NOT want your picture displayed and/or put on social media.

Competition closes on 31 January 2026.
