Empowering Communities with BlazeAid

BlazeAid’s All Fired Up grant program supports farmers in bushfire-prone regions across Australia to upgrade their Private Fire Fighting Units (PFFUs).  These units — including slip-on tanks, pumps, hoses, radios, and safety gear — play a vital role in early bushfire response and property protection.

This time-limited initiative runs from October 2025 to February 2026, offering grants of up to $10,000 per applicant. Most grants are expected to be around $2,000 or less, covering repairs, upgrades, or essential safety equipment.  Farmers are encouraged to purchase the items upfront, with BlazeAid reimbursing a percentage based on need, merit, and safety standards. Pre-approval is available for those with limited funds.

Who Can Apply?

Eligible applicants must:

  • Be farmers located in high fire-risk areas across Australia (excluding South Australia, where similar government funding is already available).
  • Be known to their local CFA Captain or Lieutenant.
  • Demonstrate recent bushfire impact or high risk of exposure.
  • Submit photos of current equipment, quotes for upgrades, and CFA endorsement.
  • Attend local CFA preseason briefings and maintain good communication with neighbours.

Applications are assessed in collaboration with CFA representatives, who rank applicants based on reliability, safety, community engagement, and readiness.

What Can Be Funded?

Examples of eligible items include:

  • Pump upgrades (e.g. petrol to diesel).
  • Baffled water tanks.
  • Fire hoses, nozzles, and hand tools.
  • UHF radios.
  • Personal protective gear (helmets, gloves, goggles, P2 masks).
  • First aid kits.
  • Any equipment deemed necessary for safe and effective fire response.
