Hopetoun Pool Project Update
Published on 24 July 2025
Yarriambiack Shire Council Provides an Update on the Hopetoun Swimming Pool Upgrade Project.
Yarriambiack Shire Council advises that the upgrade works for the Hopetoun Swimming Pool are officially underway. The Hopetoun community can expect to enjoy part of the new upgrades this coming summer.
The redevelopment project for the Hopetoun Swimming Pool has been separated into two phases: the first phase is the construction of DDA compliant Family Changeroom and a refurbishment of the existing changerooms, while the second phase consists of upgrade works to the main pool and toddler pool, including the installation of a new wet deck, all-abilities access ramp, pool slide and rebuilding the balance tank.
The phase one changeroom construction and refurbishment works contract has been awarded to Winstar Constructions Pty Ltd and will commence onsite in September 2025.
Phase two work will commence in early 2026 - after the peak pool activity period in summer has concluded.
Tammy Smith - Chief Executive Officer stated, "The Hopetoun Swimming Pool Project has been split into the two phases in an effort to avoid delays that could affect the pool's ability to be open during the upcoming summer."
"This is an important legacy project for the town of Hopetoun and the surrounding areas, providing a modern outdoor aquatics facility to enhance mental and physical health and wellbeing," Mrs Smith added.
The Hopetoun Swimming Pool project has a total project cost of $1,358,676 - including contruction, project management and contingencies. Funding contributions have been made by the Victorian State Government via the Regional Community Sports Infrastructure Fund, Yarriambiack Shire Council, the Hopetoun Swimming Pool Committee, and community donations.
