Swimming Pool and Spa Registration
Do you have a Swimming Pool or Spa? If so, new regulations introduced by the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning commenced on 1 December 2019 will require that all Swimming Pools and Spas in Victoria be registered by 1 November 2020 (previously 1 June 2020).
In addition to the registration of the Swimming Pool or Spa property owners will be required to provide a Certificate of Swimming Pool and Spa Barrier Compliance by:
- 1 November 2021 for swimming pools and spas built before 30 June 1994;
- 1 November 2022 for pools built between 1 July 1994 and 1 May 2010; or
- 1 November 2023 for all pools built after 1 May 2010,
and then every 4 years.

A Registration fee of $31.80 applies for each swimming pool or spa.
Property owners with swimming pools or spas that are not registered by 1 November 2020 may face a fine of up to 10 penalty units, currently equating to $1652.20.
The regulations also apply to relocatable pools that have been erected for at least 3 days.
