Yarriambiack Shire Council can confirm that their transition out of the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) has progressed with the announcement of four local service providers successful in receiving the service contracts for the program.

West Wimmera Health Service has been successful in receiving the contract to provide services that will cover the area of ‘Southern Yarriambiack’, including the townships of Minyip, Murtoa, Rupanyup, Kewell and Lubeck. Services will include domestic assistance, flexible respite, home modifications, meals, personal care, social support and transportation.

Rural Northwest Health has been successful in receiving the services that will cover the area of ‘North-West and Central Yarriambiack’, including the townships of Yaapeet, Hopetoun, Beulah, Brim and Warracknabeal. Services will include domestic assistance, flexible respite, home modifications, meals, personal care, social support and transportation.

Mallee Track Health and Community Service has been successful in receiving the services that will cover the areas of ‘North-East Yarriambiack’, encompassing the townships of Patchewollock, Tempy and Speed, Turriff, Lascelles and Woomelang. Services will include flexible respite, home modifications, meals, personal care, social support and transportation.

Annecto Inc. has been successful in receiving the contract to provide services to the area covered in ‘North-East and North-West Yarriambiack’, working in partnership with Mallee Track to deliver Domestic Assistance to existing clients in Nort-East area, with the potential to assist Rural Northwest Health where appropriate. Services will include domestic assistance, flexible respite and personal care.

Yarriambiack Shire Council Mayor, Cr Kylie Zanker said, “We’re extremely happy with the four local service providers who will move into this space across Yarriambiack Shire.  These organisations are reputable and already established within our communities, and have the appropriate skills and experience to take on the program.  These providers allow for a holistic model of care for our community, which is something that Council just couldn’t provide. Having home support care with organisations that provide acute, aged and other in-home care services, it makes sense that these organisations take on the program.

The new service providers will officially take over from 1 July 2023. All clients will be contacted directly by Yarriambiack Shire Council staff to inform them of the update and the process to transition to their new providers.

“This is a wonderful outcome for our communities. It is expected that the majority of our clients are already utilising other services provided by these organisations.  The transition to West Wimmera Health Service, Rural Northwest Health, Mallee Track Health and Community Service and Annecto has already commenced, and we will do everything in our power to ensure a smooth transition for our clients”, Cr Zanker said.
