Yarriambiack CEO Resigns
Yarriambiack Shire Council’s Chief Executive Officer Ms Jessie Holmes announced her resignation to Councillors and staff on Friday 26 November. The Councillors will formally accept the resignation at the next Council Meeting on Wednesday 8 December.
Yarriambiack Shire Council Mayor Cr Kylie Zanker said, “Jessie hit the ground running when she joined our team in July 2018. She has been a passionate leader and pivotal in bringing Yarriambiack Shire Council operations into the 21st century in a professional, accountable and transparent manner with changes to our governance, ICT and community engagement practices. Jessie’s role in the implementation of over 50 recommendations from the 2019 Local Government Inspectorate’s Report cannot be underestimated and the value she has brought to our Council is immeasurable”.
Ms Holmes said, “It has been an incredible privilege to be the CEO at Yarriambiack for the last three and a half years. We have undertaken significant workplace change. I am so proud of our staff over the years and how they’ve adapted and embraced change, particularly over the past 20 months. I am sad to be leaving this amazing organisation and team and very grateful for being able to serve the Yarriambiack community”.
“Jessie is a highly regarded, well respected and admired CEO in the local government sector and beyond. Jessie has transformed our Council for the better and on behalf of the Councillors, staff and community we thank her and wish her all the best in her endeavours”, Cr Zanker added.
Ms Holmes has accepted a regional position with the State Government based in the Wimmera and will finish her time at Council in mid-January 2022. Councillors will appoint an Acting CEO at their December Meeting on Wednesday 8 December as they commence the recruiting process to replace Ms Holmes.
